OREANDA-NEWS. The Presidium of the Commission for the Development of Production and Distribution of Domestic Audiovisual Content, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, approved the list of domestic applications that must be preinstalled on all smart TVs sold in Russia.

According to the law, from January 1, 2021, a ban on the sale of smartphones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs without pre-installed domestic services was to be introduced in Russia. However, by the end of the year, it was decided to postpone the entry into force of the norm until April 1, 2021. The corresponding bill was approved by the Federation Council last week.

At the meeting of the Presidium of the Pravkomissi were considered and approved the proposals of the Ministry on the list of audiovisual services recommended for pre-installation on "smart" TVs. The ministry listed the applications of TV channels and digital media platforms included in the list: Wink, ivi, Perviy, Kinopoisk, Okko, Mor.tv, Premier, Look, NTV and Start.

Among the criteria by which services were selected for pre-installation were the size of the daily audience, state participation in the ownership structure of the service owner, as well as the presence of domestic audiovisual content of its own production and / or custom-made. In total, the government received 28 applications, 10 of which were approved.
