OREANDA-NEWS. Gasoline prices in the US continue to rise, which is another problem for President Joe Biden and his administration, writes The Guardian.

“Biden has a damned presidency,” says expert political scientist Larry Jacobs.

According to him, Biden’s problems began from the first day of taking office: the president immediately faced the coronavirus pandemic, then inflation got out of control, then there was a crisis in Ukraine, and now the United States is recording a rapid increase in energy costs.

According to The Guardian, gasoline began to rise in price long before the Russian special operation in Ukraine, but Biden blamed Moscow for this. Many Republicans, in turn, reproach the American president for failing to fulfill campaign promises, as well as for trying to deny mistakes, but not correct them.

The US oil embargo on the import of Russian oil products has already hit both Americans and Europeans. Gasoline prices in many EU countries are breaking records, reaching €2 per liter. German enterprises are seriously concerned about mass bankruptcy, and in Denmark they are wary of the rise in food prices. Whether the United States will have enough internal resources to increase supplies to the EU, what role Iran and Venezuela can play in the oil and gas substitution of Moscow - the question still remains open.
