The Summer Games 2020 will be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8. The competitions were scheduled in the Japanese capital from July 24 to August 9, 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were postponed for a year. Due to the threat of the spread of the disease, it was decided to hold the Olympic competitions without foreign spectators.
According to media reports, 43% of Japanese residents oppose the Olympics in Tokyo. Also, the cancellation of the Games-2020 was demanded by the trade union of doctors of the country.
According to the latest data, during the coronavirus pandemic in Japan, more than 13 thousand people have died, 703 thousand have recovered. The total number of cases exceeded 763 thousand.
Earlier it was reported that spectators of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo will be required to provide certificates of negative PCR test for coronavirus.
