The Journalist, Whom the Chechen Authorities Called a "Terrorist", Will Leave Russia

OREANDA-NEWS "Novaya Gazeta" journalist Elena Milashina is leaving Russia. She stated this on the air of "Rain" (entered in the register of media-foreign agents in Russia).
Dmitry Muratov, the editor-in-chief of "Novaya Gazeta", and "rather high-ranking sources" insist on the journalist's departure. They talk about a high threat to Milashina's security.
The correspondent said that the threats of the Chechen authorities should be taken seriously. "(State Duma deputy Adam) Delimkhanov is a very dangerous person. I don't even know who is more dangerous — Ramzan Kadyrov or Delimkhanov, so this is a very serious situation," she said.
"Novaya Gazeta" notes that the departure will not affect the journalist's work in any way and she will continue to "cover the topic of human rights in Chechnya."
Earlier, Kadyrov called Milashina and human rights activist Igor Kalyapin "terrorists, who make money on the topic of the Chechen Republic and Chechens."
"If there is a law and law enforcement agencies in Russia, then I appeal to them: detain these accomplices of terrorists. The evidence base is in the materials of journalistic investigations on independent channels," Kadyrov wrote. After these words, "Novaya Gazeta" filed an application to the Investigative Committee of Russia, in which it demanded to open a criminal case against Kadyrov under the article on inciting hatred or enmity.
Kadyrov's statements appeared against the background of the story with ex-judge Saidi Yangulbayev, who left the country after threats. Delimkhanov promised to "tear off the heads" of Yangulbayev and his family members.
