OREANDA-NEWS.Despite the promise of US President Donald Trump to exclude the Chinese company Huawei from the “black list,” the US Department of Commerce ordered its employees to do business with Huawei as before. This was reported by the Reuters publication, citing an internal letter sent out by a high-ranking official.

The letter was sent to staff by John Sonderman, deputy director of the United States Export Enforcement Administration. In it, Sonderman requires staff to continue to treat Huawei as if it were in a black list company.

US companies still need to get approval for the sale of Huawei products and technologies, such cases are required to be “wrapped up” with a black list and a procedure for obtaining a license. Sonderman recalled that the regulation of the “black list” includes a “presumption of failure” in relation to companies that fall into it.

That is, despite the stated concessions in the trade war between the US and China, in practice for Huawei, nothing has changed yet.
