OREANDA-NEWS. Former member of the Turkish parliament from the ruling Justice and Development Party, Shamil Tayyar, reacted negatively to the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about tourists from Russia, which he made in an interview with Greek public television.

According to the Turkish politician, the Ukrainian leader was “offended by Turkey” because it takes Russian citizens on vacation. According to Tayyar, Zelensky was talking nonsense during the interview.

Silly comedian! - summed up the ex-deputy.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Turkey, telling the Greek public television ERT that he considers it unacceptable to receive Russian tourists. He expressed bewilderment at the decision of the country's leadership to organize tourist routes for Russians and at the same time act as an intermediary for Ukraine. He stressed that there can be no friendship between Kyiv and Ankara under these conditions.

Some time ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during telephone conversations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that Ankara is ready to act as a mediator between Kyiv and Moscow and take the initiative to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
