OREANDA-NEWS  The American Youth Symphony starts its 53rd season with a free concert in Royce Hall on Sunday, Sept. 24.

The concert, sponsored by the family of John Liebes, will be led by music director Carlos Izcaray. Works by Richard Strauss and Dmitri Shostakovich will be featured along with Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor. The piece by Bruch includes a violin solo feature that will be played by Concerto Competition winner Aubree Oliverson.

The concert, which starts at 5 p.m., is free and open to the public but tickets should be reserved prior to the event. Find tickets and more information here.
