OREANDA-NEWS. The Presnensky Court of Moscow sentenced the artist and activist Pavel Krisevich to arrest for a performance with barbed wire on the Old Arbat on January 24. «The court found Krisevich guilty and appointed 14 days of administrative arrest», his lawyer Sergey Telnov said in an interview with RIA Novosti on Tuesday, January 26. The punishment was imposed under part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code («Disobedience to the lawful order of a police officer»), it is indicated below. The maximum term of arrest under this article is 15 days.

The author called his performance «The Sphere of the Soul of the Russian Man». He clambered into a ball of barbed wire in his prison uniform and shouted political slogans. «I made it to show that the Russians are in danger, that they exist in conditions of authoritarian oppression, that they look like a «soul» enclosed in a sphere of barbed wire. The same Gogol's «soul», though neither dead nor alive», he explained. The rally came a day after mass protests across Russia against the arrest of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Krisevich became widely known after his action in front of the FSB building on Lubyanka. On November 5, he was «crucified» on a cross in a bloody loincloth, while other activists «set him on fire» and threw volumes with the cases of political prisoners into the fire. For the fire, a special substance was used, which burns at 40 degrees and does not harm a person. After that, Krisevich was detained, and the court sentenced him to arrest for 15 days.
