OREANDA-NEWS. American rap artist Kodak Black was sentenced to 18 months probation for assaulting a teenager in a hotel room. This was reported by the ABC News TV channel.

This is not Kodak Black's first conviction. Last year, he was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal acquisition of weapons. However, after serving less than half of his term, he received a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

The incident that caused the rapper to be sentenced to probation on Wednesday occurred in 2016 in the city of Florence, South Carolina. Then the girl said that the rapper attacked her at the hotel after his show. She complained about the incident to a school employee, after which she went to the police.

Initially, the singer was accused of rape. But then he accepted the terms of the deal and pleaded guilty to the first degree attack.

The rapper faces 10 years in prison, but he will not have to serve this term if he does not violate the conditions of an 18-month probationary period.

American rap artist Bill K. Capri, better known by his pseudonym Kodak Black, was already sentenced to 46 months in prison in 2019 for illegal acquisition of weapons, according to the Miami Herald. When filling out the documents in the gun store, he indicated that he had no criminal record, but the rapper had previously been accused of sexual assault, as well as illegal possession of marijuana and weapons.
