OREANDA-NEWS. In the box office in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States a new leader has appeared. Tim Burton's “Dumbo” has collected 43 million rubles during the very first day, 170 thousand spectators have watched the movie. Competitors noticeably lagged behind.

The spread in the forecasts for the weekend is very large - from 240 to 410 million rubles. However, almost the same situation is there in the USA. Some experts say that the first weekend box office will be about $50 million, others say it is going to be $65 million. There is no unity in the camp of critics - the total estimate barely exceeds 50%. The more interesting is the intrigue of the beginning weekend.

“Dumbo" is a live action, remake of the famous cartoon of Disney made in 1941. In the movie there are such famous actors as Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Eva Green. “Dumbo”, characterized as slower and old-fasnioned, family type, was premiered in Los Angeles on March 11. It began rolling out internationally in France, Korea, the Netherlands, and Indonesia.

The second place was taken by Jordan Peele's horror film “Us” which collected 18 million rubles during the first day. Analysts call the amount from 85 to 100 million rubles. In both cases, this is significantly higher than the initial forecast.

Russian-Serbian movie “The Balkan Line” rolled back to third place with a sum of fees of 10.5 million rubles on Thursday. The entire box office of the film is 189 million rubles, the forecast for the second weekend is 70 million.

Cartoon "Wonder Park" collected on Thursday 10 million rubles, in total 175 million rubles. "The Queen’s Corgi" is slightly behind with the amount of 9 million rubles. The entire cash register tape in the CIS - 138 million rubles.

About 4 million rubles gathered the new comedy "The Beach Bum" with Matthew McConaughey in the lead role.
