Dostoevsky's International Theater Festival to Be Held in the Novgorod Region in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. As the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novgorod Region Elena Kirilova announced on October 27 during the organization of the event, the international theater festival of F.M.Dostoevsky will be held in Veliky Novgorod and Staraya Russa from November 6 to 13 for the 24th time. It will open in November and for the first time in its history due to the pandemic it will be held both offline and online.
The organizers report with regret that the latest events of modern life have made adjustments to the formation of the festival program, so for the first time the festival will be held in two formats: online and offline, but it will still retain its international status.
The festival program includes 16 performances, which will be performed by 14 theater groups. Basically, these are groups from the regions of Russia, but also guests from the Republic of Abkhazia are waiting for the festival, and theatrical performances from Belarus and Italy are planned in the online format.
The festival will be attended by creative teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Pskov, etc. This year, for the first time within the framework of the festival, a puppet show "White Nights" will be shown, prepared by the Vladimir Puppet Theater. Another novelty will be a gastronomic marathon, which will give the residents of the region and guests an opportunity to taste the dishes that Dostoevsky and the characters of his works loved.
