OREANDA-NEWS Exhibits from the collection of Russian patrons Mikhail and Ivan Morozov, who participated in the temporary exhibition «Masterpieces of New Art. The collection of the Morozov brothers» in Paris, returned to Russia — the works have already been delivered to state museums. This was announced by the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova in her Telegram channel.

The exhibition at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris opened on September 22, 2021 and was supposed to last until February 22 this year, but it managed to be extended until April 3. The exhibition featured works by Mikhail Vrubel, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Auguste, Renoir, Pablo Picasso and other artists. According to the Ministry of Culture of Russia, more than 1 million people visited the exhibition in total.

In Paris, 67 works from the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, 65 from the State Hermitage Museum, 33 from the Tretyakov Gallery and two works from the Russian Museum were shown. According to Lyubimova, due to difficulties in transportation, the return of all paintings, graphic works and sculptures lasted almost 20 days (15 flights), starting from April 14. The last cars with exhibits crossed the Russian border on May 2.

The Minister of Culture also noted that a special exhibition project will open in Moscow in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in the summer, where the full collection from the collection of the Morozov brothers will be presented.
