According to «Deadline», the film is based on the work of historian Damien Lewis «Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: how Churchill's secret warriors ignited Europe and gave rise to modern covert operations». According to the plot of the book, in 1939, a squad of super-fighters conducts top-secret operations behind the Nazi lines in unconventional military ways.

Guy Ritchie will not only direct and write the script of this film, but also serve as it's executive producer, along with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies.

Earlier, Guy Ritchie faced criticism from the country's parliamentarians after he asked the state for support funds for his «Fatboy Pub Company», which own's several London restaurants and pubs.
