OREANDA-NEWS. Soviet actor and director Valery Kharchenko died at the age of 82.
He has long struggled with a serious illness.

On the evening of previous day, June 25, the artist felt bad, his wife called the doctors, but failed to save the man.

Kharchenko is known for his roles in the films “Hacks for memory” (1973), “At the lake” (1970), “Youth of Peter” (1980).

Kharchenko graduated from VGIK in 1971. During his directorial career he managed to work on several dozens of motion pictures, including the Zerkalo tape, which he worked on together with director Andrey Tarkovsky. As an actor, fame brought him roles in such films as “The Explosion after Midnight”, “House for Seraphim” and “Memories Hack”.
