OREANDA-NEWS. The Moscow government has established two new grants totaling RUB 100 million to support small and medium-sized animation companies. This was announced on Friday by the vice-mayor of the capital, Natalya Sergunina.

The message on the official portal of the mayor and the Moscow government says: "We expect that grants for animation companies will stimulate the growth of their economic indicators, help them in the development and promotion of Moscow animation at industry festivals and competitions."

The first grant is intended to stimulate the creation of commercially successful animated films. Applications for it can be submitted from May 31. The maximum grant amount for one company is up to 10 million rubles per year. In total, this type of support is currently provided for funding in the amount of 90 million rubles. Studios that are engaged in the production of animated audiovisual products and are in the register of animation organizations of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation or in the register of the Animated Film Association can apply for a grant. To receive this support, the studio needs to increase its film production revenue by three times the size of the future grant.

The second grant is aimed at supporting the author's non-commercial cinema. Those who managed to win a prize at one of the Russian or international festivals of author's animation will be able to apply for it.

Grant applications are accepted at the Creative Industries Agency.
