OREANDA-NEWS The administration of the Carnegie Hall Concert Hall in New York announced the cancellation of performances by Russian conductor Valery Gergiev and pianist Denis Matsuev. The concerts were scheduled to take place on February 25, 27 and 27. The organizers added that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Canadian Yannick Neze-Seguin instead of Valery Gergiev.

A representative of Carnegie Hall explained that the changes to the poster were made "in connection with recent events in the world." According to The New York Times, this happened against the background of the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

On February 24, Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala called on Gergiev to condemn Russia's actions against Ukraine. Otherwise, he threatened to break off the cooperation of the Russian conductor with the La Scala Theater.

"The Queen of Spades is going to La Scala, conducted by Valery Gergiev, a man who has repeatedly said that he is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. We believe that he should clearly define his position and oppose the invasion," Sala said.

Earlier, The Secret wrote that Belgium proposed to the European Union to stop issuing visas to all Russians, including students and traveling for work.

It also became known earlier that musician Alan Hadzaragov, better known by the stage name Matrang, expressed readiness to financially help refugees in Russia. The artist intends to donate his entire fee from the performance in St. Petersburg.

The performer of the hit "Medusa" intends to perform in the Northern capital on February 26. The musician said that he would not cancel the concert. All funds that will be collected from the sale of tickets to the event will be used to support refugees who have arrived in Russia.
