OREANDA-NEWS. The Natus Vincere (NAVI) team, which includes Russian and Ukrainian cyber athletes, has won the Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) world championship, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 tournament. It is announced on its website.

In the final NAVI defeated the European team G2 Esports. The meeting ended 2-0 (16-11 on Ancient, 22-19 on Nuke). According to Sports.ru, the winners will receive $ 1 million for first place in the tournament. 

Three other teams with players from Russia (they also include players from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Latvia) will also receive money from the prize pool. Thus, third place in the tournament went to team Gambit Esports ($140,000 prize money), fifth place went to Virtus.pro ($70,000), and in ninth place to Entropiq ($17,500).

NAVI consists of Russians Denis Sharipov (electronic), Kirill Mikhailov (Boombl4), Ilya Zalutsky (Perfecto) and Ukrainians Alexander Kostylev (s1mple) and Valery Vakhovsky (B1t). The team is a division of the Ukrainian multigaming eSports organisation of the same name.

PGL Major Stockholm is the largest CS:GO tournament. This year it featured 24 teams, with a total prize pool of $2 million.

In October, a team with players from Russia and Ukraine, Team Spirit won the cybersport tournament The International for the game Dota 2 (the main tournament for that game). It received $18.2 million for its victory. The total prize fund of The International amounted to $40 million. President Vladimir Putin and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the team on its victory.
