OREANDA-NEWS State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzayev called for the French actor Gerard Depardieu to be deprived of Russian citizenship for speaking about a special operation in Ukraine. The parliamentarian also called for the confiscation of the actor's real estate in the Russian Federation and transfer it to those in need, Russian media RIA Novosti reports.

«I think it is important and necessary to say that it is necessary to cancel Gerard Depardieu's passport for his swaggering attacks and attempts to speak from the Russian people, who did not delegate him to make these statements», Sultan Khamzayev said.

Khamzayev also recalled that Depardieu owns two apartments he received as a gift in Grozny and Saransk. He believes that this property should be seized and transferred to orphans in need of housing. According to the parliamentarian, «this would be the most correct decision».

French actor Gerard Depardieu just does not understand what has been happening in Ukraine in recent years. This opinion was expressed by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the actor's statements about the Russian military operation in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian side is ready, if necessary, to explain to Depardieu the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier in an interview, Depardieu said that the Russian people are not responsible for the actions of their leaders, in particular, President Vladimir Putin. The French actor also said that he would give the affected Ukrainians all the proceeds from the concerts planned in Paris.
