OREANDA-NEWS.French President Emmanuel Macron expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his help in organizing an exhibition of the collection of paintings by brothers Mikhail and Ivan Morozov in Paris. He stated this at the opening of the exhibition " The Collection of the Morozovs. Masterpieces of modern art", his words are transmitted by TASS.

The exhibition will be held from September 22 at the Fondation Louis Vuitton Museum, created on the initiative of one of the richest people in the world, Frenchman Bernard Arnault.

"I express my gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin... I know that he played a big role in making this exhibition take place, " the French leader said.

Earlier in September, it was reported that in 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin helped organize an exhibition of paintings from the collection of Russian art collectors, brothers Mikhail and Ivan Morozov. He gave permission to export a unique collection of canvases from the country.

The exhibition was supposed to open in 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic. It will last until February 2022, about 200 paintings will be presented to visitors.
The event is held within the framework of the Trianon Dialogue, a Franco-Russian initiative launched in 2017, which aims to strengthen ties between Russian and French civil societies through the development of new cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of culture.
