The Organizers of the Immortal Regiment Gathered at the Forum in Belgrade
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yevgeny Primakov, in a video message to the forum participants, noted that as long as there are such enthusiasts, attempts to rewrite history are doomed to failure. "Today's forum will certainly become an excellent platform for the exchange of experience, which will be useful to each of you in preserving the historical truth and popularizing eternal values that do not depend on the time and country of your residence," he added.
Co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the "Immortal Regiment" of Russia, State Duma deputy Elena Tsunaeva, in turn, called on the forum participants to keep the peace. “You and I have taken upon ourselves a very serious and important mission - to preserve the memory of our veterans, the victors of Nazism, who are in our families, to help modern politicians not to forget what happened and not to repeat these mistakes,” she stressed.
Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandr Vulin and Director of the Russian House RCSC in Belgrade Yevgeny Baranov also took part in the opening of the forum. They recalled the unity of the fate of Soviet and Serbian soldiers during the Second World War, the importance of studying and preserving history and the need to consolidate the forces of compatriots in order to prevent it from being rewritten.
The organizers of the event prepared lectures on history for its participants, thematic sessions on working with the media and in social networks, and a platform for the exchange of experience, where representatives of different countries can talk about their own projects to preserve the memory of the heroes of World War II.
The forum is held by the "Immortal Regiment" of Russia with the support of the Gorchakov Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). Rossotrudnichestvo is the partner of the event.
