OREANDA-NEWS.  The Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Rospotrebnadzor has created the drug "CoronaDerm PS" for testing for the presence of cellular immunity to coronavirus. This was told by the director of the Research Institute Areg Totolyan, his words are quoted by "Gazeta.Ru".

The new test will help identify those who have been ill with COVID-19. Now the preclinical tests of the CoronaDerm PS test have been completed and submitted for registration to the Ministry of Health. After that, clinical trials of the drug will take place, which will consist of three phases. For the first and second phases, several hundred subjects are needed, for the third, several thousand volunteers will be needed.

According to the developers, the level of antibodies to coronavirus in the human body decreases over time and existing tests do not recognize the presence of antibodies if their number is minimal. The new development will show whether the body remembers the infection and whether the production of antibodies to it will be started, with repeated infection.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that in December, Russia will begin conducting clinical studies of a skin test to assess cellular immunity.
