Ancient Sunken Forest Found Off the Coast of Lithuania
A group of archaeologists carried out photogrammetry and took about 3 thousand photographs of the discovered trunks several meters long. Trees formed a dense forest, the area was inhabited by people in ancient time, the website Naked Science writes.
The sea, which was later called the Baltic Sea, began to form due to the melting ice cover. Later the sea flooded the forest and all the surrounding territory.
