Deep-Water Long-Tailed Squid was Captured on Video for the First Time

OREANDA-NEWS The existence of this type has been known since the 1970s. However, living specimens so far have not come across even once.
Only now, American biologists working in the Ocean Research Foundation for the first time were able to shoot a video of a deep-water long-tailed squid. It was found in the Pacific Ocean near the island of Jarvis, in deep waters.
There was a research vessel "Nautilus" on a scientific expedition. This is the fifth scientific outlet to the ocean. Its duration will be from May to October of this year.
During the expedition, biologists intend to explore unexplored areas that are still present on the west coast of the United States and in the central part of the Pacific Ocean. The islands of American Samoa, Baker and the atoll of Palmyra are in the area of particular interests.
