OREANDA-NEWS. Scientists from the University of Provence (France) determined the temperature necessary for the death of coronavirus SARS CoV-2. This is stated in a message published in the electronic scientific library bioRxiv.

During the experiment, scientists heated the coronavirus cells to 60 degrees Celsius for an hour and found that after heat exposure, some of its strains were able to propagate. Coronavirus died after heating to 92 degrees for 15 minutes.

Researchers used African green monkey’s kidney cells infected with coronavirus from a patient from Germany. They placed cells in two test tubes: sterile and with biomaterial. Being heated in a clean environment, viruses died; in a non-sterile tube coronavirus remained to be able to continue reproduction to the level necessary for human infection.
