OREANDA-NEWSThe Neuralink startup created by Ilon Mask in 2017, in which the entrepreneur invested $ 100 million, described in detail the steps he has taken and is preparing to take to make connecting the human brain to a computer the same safe and painless procedure as laser vision correction. About this on the eve of the presentation in San Francisco told the president of Neuralink and one of the company's founders, Max Khodak, writes the American media.

So far, the media notes, what Neuralink was working on was classified. On Tuesday, for the first time, the company presented its plan for implanting paralyzed chip people that allow them to work on a computer.

At the presentation, representatives of the startup, in particular, showed that they learned to register the activity of the rat brain with the help of thousands of tiny chips that were surgically implanted next to the neurons and synapses in the animal's brain. To do this, Neuralink, the agency notes, "seems to have made a number of breakthroughs that allowed it to place high-speed computing systems inside the brain, causing less damage to the human body than existing methods".

In addition to investments Mask, for its work Neuralink, the agency notes, attracted more than $ 150 million from investors. The company, Bloomberg specifies, is betting that in the future “millions of people will decide to become cybernetically improved”. “It will sound very strange, but ultimately we will achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence”, said Mask, at a press conference in San Francisco the day before. Neuralink executives at the briefing, the newspaper said, acknowledged that before they can start offering commercial services, they have to go a long way. For early experiments, the company plans to work with neurosurgeons at Stanford University.
