OREANDA-NEWS Pancreatic cancer is one of the oncological diseases that are difficult to detect in the early stages. However, some symptoms of the disease are quite noticeable. 

According to the American Cancer Society, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors are capable of producing insulin, an excess of which contributes to low blood sugar. In the later stages, the disease causes pain in the abdomen and back, as well as yellowing of the skin, sclera and mucous membranes.

According to foreign doctors, almost 90% of people suffering from pancreatic cancer are people over 55 years old, moreover, men are more likely to develop it than women.

According to the American National Cancer Institute, in the United States, pancreatic cancer mortality is in third place among all cancers. In Russia, according to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for 2018, it is in first place with a mortality rate of 39.9%, the publication notes.
