OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Agriculture, concerned about the dependence of Russian chicken producers on imported breeding material, offers to breed a new breed. For these purposes, more than 5 billion rubles can be allocated from the federal budget.

The Ministry of Agriculture proposed to supplement the federal scientific and technical program for the development of agriculture for 2017–2025 with a subprogram to create "a domestic competitive cross-country of meat chickens for the purpose of obtaining broilers." This follows from the draft government decree, which is posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory and legal acts.

As a result, the Ministry of Agriculture intends to reduce the dependence of domestic poultry on imported chickens and hatching eggs, of which chicken poultry broilers are grown in Russian poultry farms. Crosses are hybrids obtained by crossing several lines of highly productive breeds.
