OREANDA-NEWS. Russian doctors are demonstrating «heroism in the face of excessive workload due to the spread of the coronavirus». This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. According to him, the situation with COVID-19 is currently really difficult and it is not getting any easier. The hospitals are full, which means an extraordinary burden on Russian doctors.

Peskov responded to the data on the grave condition of doctors working in the red zones, and their massive desire to quit.

Peskov recalled that the country has a system of payments and support for such doctors. At the same time, the question of whether it is planned to take any measures - for example, relieve the staff of medical institutions by attracting additional workers - the press secretary forwarded to the government headquarters for the fight against infection.

The survey data of the "Doctor's Handbook" mobile application indicate that since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Russian doctors have been massively declaring psychological burnout at work and expressing a desire to quit.

It was noted that almost a third of doctors and nurses working with patients with COVID-19 admitted that they are close to making a decision to dismiss due to fatigue, and 37 percent of respondents began to have health problems amid emotional exhaustion.
