OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. Within the framework of the working visit to Balkan Velayat President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the progress in construction of a section of the Uzen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan transnational steel main line.

From Turkmenbashi the Turkmen leader’s helicopter took him to Serhetyaka station.

During the flight the President could see and evaluate the pace of contraction of the Bereket-Serhetyaka section of the North-South railway and the relevant infrastructure.

The drafts of a number of projects, including the building of the railway station in the city of Bereket, a high-rise automated central control room, several railway depot as well as apartment houses to be built along the steel main line between the Bereket and Serhetyaka were installed in the building of the Serhetyaka railway station. Moreover, a number of new apartment houses will be built at the Serhetyaka station.

Speaking with railway builders, and young specialists of the train ticket sale department, the Turkmen leader asked them about the labor and living conditions and the progress of work of this railway station. The Turkmen leader also got acquainted with the work of the station-master and visited the Dostluk Hotel.

On the way back, the President’s helicopter landed in the Karakum Desert nearby the Yasga Lake, one half of which contains salt water and another half – fresh water.

Speaking with the persons accompanying the President in his trip, the Turkmen leader admired the unique beauty of the Turkmen nature, in particular – the Karakum Desert, its original flora and fauna, the healing properties of plants growing in Turkmenistan.

On that day the President of Turkmenistan left Balkan Velayat for Ashgabat.
