OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2012.  Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, is set to join the global drive of World Car Free Day on September 22 by adding two bus routes, local authorities said.

The city has taken part in the campaign since 2007 when it was designated as one of the 11 national models for giving priority to public transportation.

"We plan to launch two bus services on that day, one from Modian Vocational Education Town to Langxi Road and the other between Binhu Times Square and Yangtze River Battle Museum," an official with the local transport administration said.

Another eight cities in the province agreed to mark the upcoming World Car Free Day too, authorities said.
