OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2012. Production association Aztelecom has developed a project of laying a new regional cable line to ensure continuous communication.

Aztelecom reports of plans to build fiber-optic cable line in the direction of Agsu-Ismayilli-Gabala, thus providing access to another alternative network of communications. Implementation of the project was made possible after the connection of Gabala villages to the fiber-optic lines.

Currently Gabala communications is provided by connection to the TAE line in the direction of Agdash. This project will ensure an alternative communications for Ismailli and Oguz regions.

The project will also enable to create a district communications network in areas Gabala-Agdash-Khaldan-Sheki-Oguz-Gabala and Gabala-Ismailli-Goychay-Agdash-Gabala, which provides an alternative communications the above-mentioned regions. These days Azetelecom’s head Magomed Mammadov stated his intention to invest AZN 30 million in development of the PA network.

The PA main purpose is to increase the number of broadband internet users. As a whole, the project of broadband Internet in the country’s regions in 2013 will be spent more than AZN 200 million to be financed by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ).

"By 2015, all the territory of Azerbaijan will be covered by broadband services to serve as the basis for E-Government Project," Mammadov said earlier.
