A special attention under the leadership of President Islam Karimov is being paid to the further development of national art, the world wide propaganda of successes of our country and promoting international cooperation in this direction. High results of the work done in this field are confirmed by the cultural events held not only in Uzbekistan, but also in many countries of the world.

The actors of the State Academic Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, along with many other theater groups of the country has also been successfully involved in the ongoing major contests, festivals, art forums, concerts and present joint projects to the audience.

Rahim Mirzakamolov, soloist of the State Academic Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi has won the first place at the International Vocalists’ Competition ''Competizione dell'Opera'' held in Minsk on 16 and 22 December 2012. The competition, held at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus, was attended by 150 singers from many countries. More than sixty singers reached the semifinals and in the final, 12 young artists from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and South Korea demonstrated their skills.

The contest of ''Competizione dell'Opera'' was found in 1996 in Germany. Then the president of the Hamburg High School of Music and Drama, Professor Herman Rahway organized the first competition of opera ''Cestelli''.

This competition differs by the fact that its participants perform operas of the period of the ancient times to the twentieth century and only in Italian language. Opera singers at the age of 20-30 years can take part in the competition. Their stage performances are evaluated by members of the international jury consisting of the heads of major opera theatres and world famous opera singers.

It should be noted that it is not the first success of the Uzbek baritone R.Mirzakamolov. Our compatriot is the laureate of many national and international competitions. In particular, at the XIII International Competition of Russian romances held in Kazakhstan in 2010, he has won the Grand Prix.

''Thanks to independence, we, the representatives of the Uzbek opera, have the opportunity to participate and achieve successes in the international festivals, contests, concerts and other creative projects,'' says R.Mirzakamolov. ''All the fans of the world art can testify increasing international prestige of the Uzbek opera. At the competition ''Competizione dell'Opera'', I have performed six arias given by the jury. I am very glad that have become the winner of this competition. This is the result of a lot of attention given in our country to the young artists. Such enormous opportunities created for the manifestation of our abilities and talents, encourage us, the youth, to further success.''

Rahim Mirzakamolov successfully graduated from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan in a specialty opera singer and began his work at the Tashkent State Musical Comedy Theatre (operetta). At present, he shows his talents on many famous opera stages. He performs the most difficult parts with great skill. There are many works of Uzbek, French, Italian and other composers in the repertoire of unique, strong and sonorous baritone.

The wide-ranging and coherent reforms done in the spiritual sphere of the country serve to further the growth of spirituality of people and the development of unique traditions and schools of all art directions, support and stimulation of creative workers. These are evident also in the operatic art like in other genres.
