OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2016. Today leading payers and providers will connect in Orlando for a week of learning, collaboration, innovation, and networking at the 29th McKesson Health Solutions Conference (MHSC), one of healthcare’s longest-running annual events.

MHSC 2016 kicked off today at the World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla., and runs through Thursday, September 29th. It features four days of keynotes, educational sessions, and networking events designed to help attendees succeed in a dynamic new world of healthcare, where connections between payers, providers, and consumers are crucial for supporting a complex mix of fee-for-service and value-based models, and achieving strategic goals.

Marilyn Tavenner, President and CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and former administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), will deliver the industry keynote, which will also be aired live on Wednesday, September 28th at 8:30 a.m. on McKesson Health Solution’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Her presentation will address, “The Role of Health Plans in Strengthening Partnerships with Providers, Consumers, Government, and Other Essential Stakeholders.”

At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, an industry keynote panel, “The State of Value-Based Care and Reimbursement in 2016,” will give attendees new insights into value-based payment trends using industry research from ORC International, commissioned by McKesson. Panelists include Lili Brillstein, Director, Episodes of Care, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey; Shawn Fitzgibbon, Chief Product Officer, EmblemHealth; Susan Pinnas, Senior Vice President, Provider Strategy and Alliances, AvMed; and Dr. Andrei Gonzales, Associate Vice President of Product Management, Value Based Payments, McKesson Health Solutions.

On Thursday, September 29th, Nandini Rangaswamy, Chief Strategy Officer, ZeOmega, will present “The Future of Population Health Management and Value-Based Care.” Her talk will examine where population health management and value-based care initiatives will lead organizations, and she’ll share five pillars vital to succeeding in the vastly different world of value-based care.

A wide range of educational sessions led by experts from top payers and providers and MHS’s clinical, HIT, and legislative teams will help attendees take the pulse of the healthcare marketplace. They’ll get research-driven intelligence and counsel on VBR trends and learn how to speed the transition to value by automating, integrating, and transforming financial and clinical processes across healthcare. Attendees can also get a CEU through a variety of clinical and coding organizations.

“In an industry where constant change is the new normal, MHSC provides a unique venue for our customers to discuss their challenges, share ideas and strategies, and learn about innovative technologies that can help them achieve their strategic objectives,” said Rod O’Reilly, President of McKesson Health Solutions. “Together with MHS’s clinical, legislative, and technology experts, attendees have the opportunity to learn how to be more successful and collaborative in this new environment with their fellow payers and providers across the industry.”
