OREANDA-NEWS. The company Mercedes-Benz Vans in 2018 brings to the Russian market three innovations. The first of these will be the updated Sprinter Classic. The van will receive a new 6-speed transmission and a number of additional systems. And some of them will be offered as an option, others, including other fog lights and seat heating, will be included in the basic equipment. In addition, Russian customers will receive a special application Sprinter Classic Connect. Sales of the updated version will begin in the near future.

In the autumn of 2018, the model range of Mercedes-Benz Vans will be completed with the new Sprinter, which in Russia will be offered with three variants of the drive - front, rear and full. A fully electric version will be also available.

On the Russian market there will be launched a X-Class pick-up: orders for this model will be launched in May of this year, in June an official presentation and test drive will take place. We should note that this model will be available in the whole network of the brand: as at "car dealers", so in those car dealerships where light commercial vehicles are presented.

Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Vans, Soren Heze, said that the division has the question: what will happen after the Sprinter Classic? "The Russian market is too important for us, and we cannot refrain from local assembly, otherwise we will turn into a niche brand, and we are categorically not satisfied with it," - he explained. The company has not decided yet, which model will replace Sprinter Classic on the assembly line, the question is still at the discussion stage.

Among the more distant prospects Soren Heze called the possibility of bringing to the Russian market a small class bus (for 28-30 seats) on the chassis of the new Sprinter. In addition, in 2020 there will be a new generation of the Citan model. The representative of the unit stressed that unlike the current generation, "it will be a real Mercedes".
