OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian-Japanese enterprise for the production of electric vehicles will begin to build in Primorye in the spring of 2018. The corresponding agreement was signed by the Primorsky Territory Government, Sumotori Techno Holding and Arai Shoji Co., Ltd. in Tokyo. The joint Russian-Japanese project was named "Prometheus", reports the press service of the Primorsky Territory Administration.

"For the development of the Russian-Japanese project, it was reserved a land plot of three hectares, the business plan and design are being worked out. At the first stage we plan to produce up to five thousand cars per a year. Transformation of Japanese small cars into electric cars does not require large expenses, since the technology has already been run-in", - said Vitaly Verkeenko, General Director of Sumotori Group.

On the same site, it will be placed the first plant in the Far East for the utilization of cars that have exhausted their resources. At the first stage, two thousand units are planned to be disposed monthly. And it's not just about "pressing on metal", but also about deep, "smart" processing of each component of the car. The project will become a catalyst for the development of related industries - processing of plastic and rubber chips, broken glass and other deep processing products.

Let's note, that 1,1 million cars are registered in Primorsky Territory, more than 90% of which were produced in Japan and imported as second-hand cars
