OREANDA-NEWS. The share of cars of local assembly in the Russian market for 8 months of 2017 was 82.2%. This is the highest level for the whole history of the Russian car market.

Compared to 2016, this indicator grew by almost 2.5 percentage points (then it was 79.8%). Five years ago (in 2012), the share of local assembly cars was less than 2/3 of the market (64.1%), and less than half of the market (44.3%) nine years ago (in 2008). Almost all key players have their own production in Russia now, a preferential mode of industrial assembly. At the same time, the ruble rate, which dropped substantially to all key world currencies, made the direct imports of cars less profitable.
