OREANDA-NEWS. New passenger car market in Russia came up to 1.46 million units in 2017. This is 16.3% more than a year ago.

Moscow is still the largest car market in our country. We should remind that last year, 213,100 new vehicles were sold in the capital, which is 6.4% more than a year ago. The second place in the rating of the largest regional markets was taken by Moscow region, where the market increased more significantly (+ 21.3% up to 118,200 vehicles). St. Petersburg (100,700 vehicles, + 17.5%), where the sales exceeded 100,000 vehicles, is on the third place.

Tatarstan (70,400 vehicles; + 18.4%) became the best among non-capital regions and the fourth in the total rating. Krasnodar Territory retained its place in the TOP-5 (55,200; + 13.3%), slightly ahead of Bashkiria (54,500 vehicles; + 24.8%). TOP-10 largest regional markets in 2017 also included Samara (48,900 vehicles; + 11.3%), Sverdlovsk (44,500 vehicles; + 31.3%), Rostov (39,900 vehicles; + 13.3%) and Chelyabinsk (37,600 vehicles; + 28.8%) regions.
