OREANDA-NEWS. Updated crossovers Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail will be produced at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. About this the agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed by the director of public relations of Nissan in Russia, Roman Skolsky, by adding that it is needed time to adjust their production, so the updated models will be offered to Russian buyers later.

As part of the implementation of its strategy in the Russian market, Nissan is concentrating its efforts on promoting the crossovers Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano - models produced at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. At the end of 2017, the company produced 45,827 cars, which is more by 26% than a year ago. The increase in production will allow the satisfying of the growing demand in the Russian market for the Nissan Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano models.

"Thanks to our own production in the country, it is easier for us to control the costs, and hence the prices for cars. In addition, logistics is shortened, especially in comparison with Japan. Another advantage - local production allows you to make significant changes to the car, making it much more suitable and comfortable for Russian roads. For example, the efforts of Russian engineers at Nissan Qashqai were made by more than 200 technical improvements in comparison with its English counterpart, "- said Roman Skolsky.

The localization of production of SUV allows automakers to remain "afloat" in conditions of unstable exchange rates, and this, in turn, makes it possible to form a balanced pricing policy, confirms Alexander Zinoviev, the director of the South-East division of the GC "AvtoSpetsTsentr". The big plus of localization is that it gives an opportunity to participate in government support programs, for example, preferential car loans.
