Latvia included international broadcasting channel of Ukraine UA TV
OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2016. In early April, the Latvian campaign "Baltcom" has included the international broadcasting channel of Ukraine UA | TV into packages of the "Digital TV" and "Interactive TV".
Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets commented: "From now the leading Internet television and digital television of Latvia offer viewers programs of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine of the channel UA | TV. I am grateful to theAmbassador of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikans for assistance in distributing our television channel. It is important, that the Ukrainians living in Latvia now have the access to official Ukrainian television".
The "Baltcom" was founded in 1991 and for 25 years has become one of the leading providers of electronic communication in Latvia. Today, the company provides its services throughout all Latvia.
Note that on 17 March 2016, during the meeting of the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikans the TV channel was presented with its main features of broadcasting. Then the Honorable Ambassador expressed his support and promised to promote international broadcasting of Ukraine to Latvia in the nearest future.
Recall that the launch of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine (IBMPU) was held on 1 October 2015. In the framework of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine the "UA|TV" channel was introduced instead of satellite "UTR" TV channel. It is broadcasted via three satellites: Amos 3, Azerspace 1, Galaxy 19, as well on its own YouTube channel.
The legal basis of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine became the Law "On international broadcasting system of Ukraine" developed by MIP, which was signed by the President of Ukraine on 28 December 2015. According to the Law, IBMPU is registered as a state enterprise.
