OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2016. T-Mobile subscribers with a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Galaxy Note 5 can finally bite into the latest flavor of Android.

The carrier announced Monday it will offer Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system to the two Samsung phones. T-Mobile's support pages describe how to check your S6 Edge+ and Note 5 to see if you need to run the update.

Marshmallow has slogged along with a slow rollout since its November debut. The lengthy wait is a side effect of Android's unwieldy upgrade process. Phone makers and wireless carriers must test each new version from Google for every device before they can plan and implement a rollout. That means Android users often have to wait months to receive the latest version.
