OREANDA-NEWS. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on the CEOs of Public Joint Stock Company “Ukrainian Railway” and "Ukrposhta" who had won the competitions to fill relevant posts. The selection process was held in two stages, in which participated 48 and 31 applicants respectively.

Wojciech Balczun was appointed by the Government the Head of Board of Ukrzaliznytsia. The new director has over 15 years of professional experience, including 7 years of experience in railway transport of Poland holding the posts of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Railways RRB S. A. and Director General of PKP Cargo S. A. He conducted a large-scale management restructuring in PKP Cargo, introduced a headcount optimization program, built a new management team, brought a loss-making company to profitability and prepared the company to IPO. He worked as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LOT Polish airlines. He was included in TOP 20 list of the anti-crisis managers of Poland-2012 by Bloomberg Businessweek Poland. He is a citizen of Poland.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also appointed Igor Smelyansky to chair SE Ukrposhta.

Igor Smelyansky has over 17 years of experience in strategic, management and financial consulting, including leading international consulting companies. He completed several projects in Ukraine and other countries and is currently working in the U.S. He graduated with an MBA degree from Georgetown University, and with a Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School.
