OREANDA-NEWS. Rockwell Automation will showcase solutions and services designed to help oil and gas producers contain costs and increase efficiencies at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, May 2 to 5. The company will exhibit its innovative suite of process control, motor control, safety and information solutions in Booth 11307.

Oil and gas companies are consistently seeking new ways to increase efficiencies and optimize processes amid shrinking profit margins, tightening environmental regulations and emerging operational complexities. Rockwell Automation will showcase automation technologies designed to help producers connect production with enterprise systems, and extract actionable information to improve output, asset utilization and decision-making.

With the emergence of new technologies comes the increased risk of industrial security threats. Dawn Cappelli, vice president of information and risk management for Rockwell Automation, will be participating in a panel discussion on cybersecurity during the event, taking place on May 5 at 9:30 a.m. She’ll be addressing cyber risks, risk-mitigation strategies and workforce initiatives for building a cybersecurity program.

Representatives also will be available at the Rockwell Automation booth to address any questions or unique challenges and to discuss topics, such as:

  • Improving operational safety and reducing downtime with the OptiSIS process safety solution from Rockwell Automation. The pre-engineered safety instrumented system is ideal for oil and gas producers with aging process-safety systems that are either noncompliant or can no longer be maintained.
  • Optimizing processes with the PlantPAx modern distributed control system from Rockwell Automation. The system was recently updated with expanded design and development guides, and with embedded model predictive control technology for improved control.
  • Increasing efficiency and security with the terminal management solution, a joint solution with Endress+Hauser GmbH (E+H). The solution is a safe and efficient way to manage the loading and unloading of oil and gas products at a terminal.

Rockwell Automation will also host outdoor Booths 138 and 139 that feature solutions for use in subsea operations, including a Hoffman enclosure and hazardous locations. Both E+H and Hoffman are part of the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork program.
