OREANDA-NEWS. Within the scope of all-Russian celebration of the 320th anniversary of the Russian Navy and in honor of the 15th anniversary of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov glorification in the Russian Orthodox Church community of Saints, the Admiral reliquary with holy relics arrived in Rybinsk for the first time. By the decision of the organizing committee of the All-Russian religious procession with the holy relics of Admiral and with the assistance of Bishop of Rybinsk and Danilov Veniamin, on August 8 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. the holy relics were delivered to NPO Saturn – as a token of respect to the 100th anniversary of the budget-making company and to its employees, to provide the possibility to worship the holy relics of the countryman glorified in the community of Saints – Fyodor Ushakov, superior Admiral of the Russian Navy, native-born of the village of Khopylevo, Rybinsky District. Among the people escorting the cortege were Bishop of Rybinsk and Danilov Veniamin and archimandrite Innokentii, father superior of the Sanaksar Nativity of Mary monastery, where the Admiral reliquary with the holy relics are kept.

When greeting the audience Master Veniamin said: “Saint righteous Fyodor Ushakov was not only an unconquerable warrior, who had not lost any sea battle, but a decent Christian, who had always shown concern of the fellow men. We can and should model ourselves on him”.

NPO Saturn Managing Director Viktor Polyakov called the delivery of the Admiral reliquary ‘a highly significant event’: “Since recently out Company has been directly involved in the development of domestic naval programs; and the today’s moment of history encourages us to make more efforts for successful implementation of these programs for the benefit of the whole country. Let this holy thing remind us of the moral responsibility of each person for the assigned task, which is very important in the world of intensive development of technologies focused on scientific knowledge”.

The religious procession with the holy relics of the righteous warrior Fyodor Ushakov has been initiated from Sanaksar to pass by Rybinsk, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh, Krasnodar to the Black Sea, Kerch and Savastopol. The delivery of the relics to the budget-making company of Rybinsk is the first one on the sacred procession route. The day before, on August 7, a cortege with Saint righteous Fyodor Ushakov reliquary was welcomed in Rybinsk, the Admiral’s motherland, by acting governor of the Yaroslavl Region Dmitry Mironov, mayor of the Rybinsk city Denis Dobryakov, Chairperson of the Sevastopol legislature Ekaterina Altabaeva, and numerous representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the region.  Hereafter, on August 8, the holy relics of the righteous warrior Fyodor Ushakov will be delivered to the village of Khopylevo, Rybinsky District to the Holy Theophany Sanctuary on the Island, where in 1745 the future naval commander was baptized. On August 9, the religious procession will be met in
St. Petersburg where during several days the Admiral reliquary will stay at the Kazan Cathedral.
