OREANDA-NEWS Crosby ISD of Crosby, Texas, has turned to Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, to install a new LED video display, the largest Daktronics has installed at a high school venue in the country. The display, measuring 28 feet high by 48 feet wide, was installed prior to the season kicking off at Crosby High School's Cougar Stadium.

"I have been very pleased with the services that Crosby ISD has received from Daktronics," said Doctor Keith Moore, superintendent for Crosby ISD. "We have been partners with Daktronics for five years now and have installed two football video scoreboards and are in process of installing video basketball, softball and baseball boards. I have found the Daktronics equipment to be state of the art. The addition of our 13HD video board at our football stadium has taken our 'Friday Night Lights' experience to an entirely new level."

"Crosby ISD did their research and looked at several other schools in the area before deciding what size and pixel pitch to go with for their upgrade," said Jareel, Daktronics sales representative. "There was pretty intense competition leading to this project. Our other successful installations in the region helped our case and we're excited to once again provide an exceptional product for our customer."

Bringing high-definition live video and instant replay capabilities to the stadium, the display features a 13HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility. The outdoor application comes with industry-leading environmental protection.

A repeat Daktronics customer, Crosby ISD previously installed a 26-millimeter display to ease their way into the world of video displays at their stadium. Today, they have one of the largest video displays in their region with a producer on site for game day to help with all aspects of the production.
