OREANDA-NEWS. Tbilisi, a protocol was signed at the ХХII Conference of Managing Directors of Railway Companies in the Organisation of Railway Cooperation.

The Russian delegation was led by First Vice-President at Russian Railways Vadim Morozov, who said that 2006 was very productive for the Organisation of Railway Cooperation.

“In addition to the growth in work parameters and the increase in the length of operating lines in the member countries, 2006 saw a whole series of systemic improvements in the Organisation’s activity, above all the serious improvement in the revision of its basic and founding documents in order to grant it the status of a fully-fledge international inter-governmental organisation. In addition, 2006 was notable for the introduction of a unified waybill under Western and Eastern transport law,” said Vadim Morozov.

Vadim Morozov praised in particular the implementation of programmes to develop high-speed passenger links in the Organisation’s member countries, the unification of Western and Eastern transport law, and also better exchange of information and data.
