OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2007. A monument to the founders of the nuclear power industry of Russia will be erected in Seversk, a closed administrative area in Tomsk region. The press service of the Seversk administration reports that it will be a 20-meter stele – a starred pillar standing on a 3D model of the nucleus and bearing an inscription “To the Founders of the Nuclear Power Industry.” This design has been selected through a contest from among the 13 best.

The construction of the monument is the idea of the veterans and employees of Siberian Chemical Plant (Seversk). The acting head of the Seversk administration Anatoly Abramov says that the project will be financed by both budgetary and extra-budgetary sources.
