In line with the plan of actions to implement Directive #3 “Economy and thrift are the major factors ensuring the economic security of the state”, energy-saving targets should be included into corporate business plans, Economy Ministry of Belarus Nikolai Zaichenko has stated at a session of the Council of Ministers’ Presidium, reported the Official website http://www.government.by.

According to the plan of actions, every company will have its own targets on economizing energy resources. They are also expected to conduct technical modernization programmes. Energy efficiency standards will be introduce for both domestic and foreign products.

Directive #3 plan of actions also maps out the areas of improving scientific activity in the energy saving. Demand/supply balances relating to the consumption of electric energy, natural and liquid gas, petrol and boiler fuel will be developed for all oblasts and Minsk. The projections on the reduction of the GDP energy intensity, increasing the use of local fuels, alternative energy and renewables will be taken into consideration.
