OREANDA-NEWS. September 4, 2007. In January — July 2007, pulp and paper output by Ilim Group branches amounted to 1 mln 492 thousand tonnes, 3.2% up as compared to the first seven months of 2006. Market pulp output went up 59.4 thousand tonnes (7%) to 899.6 thousand tonnes. Board production was at 426.5 thousand tonnes, 5.7 thousand tonnes (1.3%) down year-over-year. Paper production totalled 153.2 thousand tonnes, 3.6 thousand tonnes (2.2%) up from the level of the past year. Roll paper output dropped because the planned capital hault was moved forward as compared to 2006. End-year output in these product types is expected to rise as compared to the past year.

Pulping went up 39 thousand tonnes (2.7%) to 1 mln 458.63 thousand tonnes.

Over the first seven months of 2007, Ilim Group logging companies logged 3.9 million cu metres of timber, 7.8% up year-over-year. Total timber supply by Ilim Group own companies was 3.8 mln cu metres of timber, 7.4% up from the level of 2006. The share of timber supply by inside logging companies was 48.9%. The correlation between inside and outside supply reflects the company’s plan to optimize raw wood supply based on the logging markets analysis.
