OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2007. System Capital Management was one of the partners of the International Economic Forum “Discover Donbass-2007” in Donetsk, Ukraine, reported the press-centre of SCM.

The event was organized by the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held within the framework of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Donetsk region and supported by the Donetsk regional authorities.

The International Economic Forum is designed to attract attention of the business community to the investment opportunities in Donetsk and the prospects for international cooperation and partnership. With Donetsk chosen as one of the host cities in Ukraine for the Euro-2012 Football Championship, the city is becoming an even more attractive destination for foreign partners and investors. The Discover Donbass 2007 Forum will help international investors and companies (particularly those from the CIS region and the European Union) to learn more about the Donetsk region.

The two-day Forum will involve: the Donetsk regional authorities; Embassies, Consular Departments and Trade Representative Offices of foreign countries; foreign Chambers of Commerce; businesses from the Donetsk region; Ukrainian and foreign investment companies; financial and banking specialists, and the media.

SCM’s Director of International and Investor Relations, Jock Mendoza-Wilson, spoke at the second day of the conference at a roundtable discussion on investment opportunities in the Donetsk region.  Commenting on the event he said: “The Donetsk region is rich in opportunities for investors. International investors and business people are already present in the region. Still, the region keeps on increasing business links with Europe. This event is another opportunity to increase awareness of business opportunities in the region and to attract further investment.”
