On December 11, 2007 Sergei Kirienko, Head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Agency of Russia, and Mukhtar Dzhakishev, Head of the KazAtomProm National Nuclear Company of Kazakhstan, briefed Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov on pursuance of instructions given by the Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan. The sides also dwelt on prospects of cooperation, reported the Official website http://en.government.kz.

“Pursuant to agreements between the two nations’ Presidents, a package program of cooperation has been approved; we have established 4 joint ventures. We’ve been jointly producing uranium; works have started to create the uranium-enrichment facility in the territory of Russia”, S. Kirienko told journalists following the meeting.

He admitted that “the commissions given by the Presidents have been carried out timely or even ahead of schedule”.
